Community Engagement Sites

New opportunities are growing. The Community Learning Campus will also steward the establishment of “service hubs” in 12 Alberta communities, all connected to the Bell e-Learning Centre in Olds, Alberta. In essence, these Community Engagement Sites (CES) are a store front to give students, businesses, industry and community members, access to the world. They will provide learners – young and old – with high speed data exchange, video conferencing, and other educational technology, along with technical support, to enhance the rural Alberta lifestyle. The CES network has the strong support of the Community Learning Campus, Chinook’s Edge School Division, Olds College, the David Thompson Health Region, Alberta Employment and Immigration, Alberta Finance and Enterprise, and a wide range of community and province-wide partners and supporters.

In the first three years, Community Engagement Sites will be established on a phased-in basis in the communities of Bowden, Delburne, Cremona, Red Deer, Penhold, Sundre, Elnora, Spruce View, Didsbury, Innisfail, Sylvan Lake/Benalto, and Carstairs. The sites are purpose-built space, specifically designed to meet community needs and linked through the SuperNet to the Community Learning Campus in Olds.
